n-Track Studio

It would have been difficult and expensive to record and edit your music some fifteen years ago. Nowadays, everything is more accessible due to software. When it comes to creating music, you can do it from the comfort of your home. With n-Track Studio, a simple computer can be turned into your own recording studio. It is not expensive and it offers a very wide range of features which will allow you to record and edit sounds like a pro.

This software can take a bit longer to download if you have a slow Internet connection because the setup kit is 23.3 Mb large. Fortunately, you can make up for lost time due to the fast installation process. You will only have to click one Next button and you will have the software up and running in less than a minute.

n-Track Studio lets you work with multiple audio channels, so overdubbing is one of its key features. You can add any number of tracks on separate channels by browsing for audio files or by dragging and dropping them into place. These will be displayed in the progress timeline, on the upper half of the interface. You can arrange them however you want with simple clicks and drag actions and color code them for a better view. The software also allows you to mute a certain channel, or play only one of them by clicking one of the buttons next to each audio channel. Another way you can add sound to a channel is to record it. If you have more than one sound card, you can make parallel recordings on separate audio channels.

n-Track Studio also allows you to add and edit effects during the recording process. The buttons next to each channel include a record button. Clicking one of them will drop down a menu where you can select a stereo, left or right channel. To start recording, simply click the record button next to the main playback buttons, found on the bottom side of the window. To add an effect to a recording, you need to right click a channel and navigate a series of submenus, under the Effects option. You can add effects like compressor, echo, pitch shift and many more. Regardless of which one you choose, a small window will show up where you can adjust the effects using a series of sliders and knobs. The interesting part is that you can do this while playing back the entire project. Any adjustment you make to the effect will be heard in real time during the playback.

Video sync is another feature which will come in useful. You can access it from the View menu. This will bring up a small video player. The movie will play back at the same time as the audio. If you jump to a certain position in the audio timeline, you will automatically jump to the same position in the movie. This way you can accurately create a sound track for a movie.

The lower half of the interface features a track mixer. This lets you set the volume, balance and many more, for each individual channel. For each channel you add, a new set of controls will appear in the track mixer area. Alternatively, you can select a channel and make use of a set of controls, found on the upper half of the window. n-Track Studio has other features to offer, which are too many to count. All you need to know is that you will find everything you need in order to create professional audio tracks or anything else related to sound.
